Flutterwave raises $35 million Series B from Visa and other investors

Flutterwave, the Nigeria based payments company has raised $35 million US in a series B round of investment. They have also announced a partnership with World Pay focused exclusively on Africa payments.

What the company does:

The company provides API’s to enable businesses in Africa accept payments from Visa and several mobile payment options.

Some of their clients include the likes of Jumia, Uber and Booking.com

Investors in the deal:

  2. Greycroft (lead)
  3. eVentures
  4. Visa
  5. Green Visor
  6. CRE Venture capital

The company seems to stand out when it comes to Africa payments over shadowing some of it competition from Nigeria and across Africa like Paga, Paystack, DusuPay and the rest.

We are yet to see how he industry evolves but at the moment, we are seeing the new scramble for Africa with Fintech leading the way.
